Passive RFID Products
Ultrahigh-Frequency (UHF) RFID systems operate in the hundreds of MHz and are well suited for applications requiring a low-cost tag and longer range reading. UHF RFID became popular in the late 1990’s when the EPC standard emerged for use in supply chain monitoring as mandated by the US government. Because this frequency band is not standardized around the world (due to cell phone operation), the UHF RFID systems are designed to operate at multiple frequencies: (902-928 MHz) in North/South America, (867-868) in Europe, and 952 MHz in Japan, for example.
